This chic flowered accessory looks life-like because it is actually made of sustainably harvested leaves from the Brazilian Cerrado region.
While walking the aisles of an international gift show I stopped by a small booth and wondered over the intricate and brightly colored flower brooches in the stall. As I looked more closely I could make out the nearly microscopically detailed leaf-like veins within the petals of the flowers. Patricia quickly came over and explained that her accessories are all made out of real leaves from the local Brazilian Cerrado vegetation. Fascinated, I bought one and promised I'd be in touch.
Once I was home I had the time to admire the intricate delicacy and brilliance of the work. The colored petals look and feel life-like, but unlike the flowers we buy at the florist they never droop or fade.
