As an addition to a long bloodline of artists, Ilse Pringle has always lived for art.  She started working with glass almost twenty years ago, specializing in stained glass.  Not content with the confines of her medium, she gradually infused her work with new techniques and materials.  This journey continues as she constantly shapes her own unique style.

Ilse incorporates a wide range of material into her art that would seem trivial however captivates the imagination by the addition of colored glass pigments, copper, sea sand and various other materials.

Ilse draws her inspiration from the Karoo in South Africa where she currently resides.  Her technique is based on the method of glass fusing, joining together pieces of glass, and slumping, shaping glass over molds, in a kiln.  She creates glass art that not only affords an aesthetic attractiveness but a functional purpose as well.
