Fernanda Sibilia studied jewelry making at the prestigious Escuela Municipal de Joyeria in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she learned complex jewelry techniques and skills. During this time she was commissioned to make over one million necklaces as a promotional item for a global brand. In just a few months Fernanda designed, produced and manufactured the necklaces to meet the due date.
From this experience Fernanda decided to open her own jewelry business, Sibilia, in 1996. She finds her inspiration from her trips to different countries of Latin America, early twentieth century Latin American art movements and popular art forms. Fernanda is constantly researching and employing novel metalsmithing and jewelry making techniques. From the blowtorch to paintbrush, she manipulates brass, copper, rose gold and alpaca silver to create dramatic, wearable pieces.
For more than 20 years, Fernanda and her talented team of 10 artisans have handcrafted jewelry and home décor items from her design studio located in the Abasto neighborhood of Buenos Aires, famous for tango and filigrana painting. The Sibilia line of jewelry is expert craftsmanship combined with functionality.
